Program Description

Bringing Care Into Trusted Spaces

The initiative brings these services directly into churches, community events, town halls, and other familiar settings—helping families recognize cognitive concerns early, understand available options, and access appropriate professional support before a crisis occurs. The program is designed especially to serve underserved communities that may face barriers to traditional healthcare and aging services.

The initiative's community-based approach recognizes that trusted relationships can help families overcome confusion, isolation, and distrust of traditional systems. It does not replace medical providers or other professionals; instead, it serves as a bridge connecting individuals and families with the specialized services they need.

The Senior Care Initiative in the community

Through partnerships with healthcare providers, advocacy organizations, faith communities, and elder-justice resources, The Senior Care Initiative is developing a sustainable and replicable model for supporting older adults and caregivers. Its long-term vision is to expand this model through COGIC churches and other trusted community organizations, helping communities move from crisis response to early awareness, coordinated support, and greater protection for vulnerable seniors.
